Weeping Willow in
a forest of big, strong Oaks
might be the wisest

in letting its deep
emotions run free as the
rain in April’s days,

instead of hiding
it behind a strong facade
and bottling it

away. Saving it
for a sunny day. Waiting
for it to explode.

I like the thought of trees having personalities and this poem set to the style of haiku shows what I imagine the personifications of my two favorite trees.
