Three Haikus

By , Lake Oswego, OR
Warm, musty welcome
An eager rustle of white
Awaits on shelf edge

Now, small pale fingers
Heft the book off wooden perch
Gripping dove-soft spine

And it tumbles down,
Gleefully end over end--
The story begins.
