Daddy sent her to therapy
but it didn't fix
the little girl
it just told her
what was wrong
They dismissed her
behavior
as teenage hormones.
She remembers.
"Maybe it's just an off week."
"She'll be better tomorrow."
"Nothing serious."
"Nothing some medicine won't fix."
"I'm promising, she'll be fine."
She needed love, I guess
one pill by mouth a day
for an artificial smile
is easier to prescribe.
