The Chasing Game
She handed the boy a small pink flower,
With a stem cut in half.
She knew he was in love with her,
He didn’t know that she didn’t care.
Mindlessly skipping away,
Her dress flowing behind her.
She knew he’d follow,
They always do.
He searched for this daring girl,
She ran from the love struck boy,
Not caring if she was caught or not,
Knowing she’d move on,
Very soon after,
Until the light of day was gone.
Everything was paused.
The next day came,
And he finally found her,
Except this time,
She didn’t run away.
He came to her,
His eyes full of excitement,
Her’s full of dullness.
It’s a game you see,
Are you willing to play?
