Cutting Through the Layers of Lies
Cutting Through the Layers of Lies
The layers of flesh and skin split open,
His shaky hand flicked left and right.
The scalpel traced the invisible lines,
Parallel to his thoughts.
Both patient and doctor held their breath,
One more permanent than the other.
Missing pieces came together
As the pen created black uneven lines
On the silk-like parchment.
“A murder, not suicide!” he exclaims
To the empty audience.
Silent clapping in his head
As he wrote the opposite.
