Don't leave
Why are the police at my middle school
Why is there a metal detector at the front doors
Why is a dog sniffing my locker
I thought this was a safe place
A learning environment
Everyday my mother drops me off at this crime scene for eight hours
I was fine
I was comfortable
I could breathe without hesitation
But now a part of me weeps inside at the thought of her leaving me
The thought of something happening between the moment she leaves and comes back to save me from this hellhole
I can't breathe
If I breathed too loudly they would hear me
But I must exhale
It's too late they already found me
Why
Why did you leave me here mommy
I didn't want you to leave
