Love or hate?
A fit and a burst?
Was love too late?
What came first?
Compassion or sorrow?
Was care saved for over morrow?
What came first?
A smile or a frown?
Was your heart just a little let down?
What came first?
Love or hate?
Well I'm here to tell you,
That love is never too late.

This poem was inspired by a blogger wondering if the relationship between love and hate is similar to heat and cold. "I wonder if there is no real hate, just an absence of love."
