The Echoes of Darkness
The Darkness echoes throughout the cave,
bouncing back and forth like happy children playing with a ball.
But no —
I am in this dark cavern,
a chamber where this cruel blackness only concusses me,
each bounce crushing me,
with its smashing force —
making me collapse to my knees,
my body slamming into the adamantine floor —
begging and pleading for all of it to
STOP!
But another sickening slug
crushes my bones, my veins, my shattering body —
it will never cease,
it will never ease.
And it echoes,
again.
With no will left, I succumb
to the sinister darkness.
With no will left, I stand on feeble legs;
Because now, I
am the Darkness.
And I echo, again.
