Under The Skin
mercury runs as blood should,
turning flesh to silver.
automatic eyes close as metal fingers dance across the shadows on the table.
through skin it glows, something
strange, indescribable, untouchable
something that says
“this is what I have. use it gently.”
mercury blood coursing through silver veins into a barely beating heart as
life enters legs, arms, chest.
head bows to let the light out from
under the skin.
