The crows keep watch
Be wary around the crows. They talk amongst themselves and word gets ‘round quickly.
They are karma, who’s come back to praise you or bite you.
They are eternity, who lives long enough to know the difference between kind and nasty.
They are crows, who have a mean streak to those who likely deserve it.
Beady eyes stare into your soul. Word is that they don’t forget. And chances are they won’t forgive.
Be kind and cautious when you first meet them. They might give you the courtesy of being trusted.
Only then may you get small gifts. A sunflower here. A shiny piece of metal there.
But be nasty and cruel? Well, don’t you suppose there’s a reason that a group is called a murder?
