i understand the world has been so hard on your feet
i see the pain in your eyes
But
why can you not recognize the pain in mine?
i understand
you have a strenuously hard time
but that does not give you validation
to drink your family away
i do not understand-
you must think
that the alcohol
can raise your kids
right?
You must have some ounce of you that thinks this is helping

because you wouldnt be drinking the days away if you knew it was hurting your children,
crushing them emotionally-
over and over and over again
right?

how you can not stay sober
