My twin
Eight and a half months of togetherness
We could have been forever-ish
Instead, I live with a hole in my heart
While you get to sing and dance and play the harp
Not once did we get to take trips to the beach
Or draw on each other’s faces while asleep
Not once did you get in trouble in class
Or go through the pain of wearing a mask
I’ll never know why death took you and not me
But for now, I guess I’ll have to face reality
