An Imperial Affliction
To be dead, but not dead
To wake up with dulled senses
and to feel without feeling
to breathe without air
to weep without tears
This is my imperial affliction
My never ending suffering
To go on for eternities
without an end
how can i breathe
how do i cry
how can i live within
this imperial affliction

This short piece was inspired by my favorite movie, The Fault in our Stars. This movie was inspired by the book by John Green, about a young girl with cancer. This is dedicated to our own imperial afflictions, no matter the size or worth people find within them.
