Ink Stained Face
The black “ink” pours down my face
From the makeup that is no longer in place
I’ve tried so many times to understand
Why you would want to throw away a life so grand
I’m sad, I’m angry, and feel somewhat betrayed
For you will never know how bad I wish you would have stayed
But now here I am being told that it’s okay to cry
Because now it’s time to say our final goodbye.

This piece was inspired by the loss of my older brother. It is for the "Ink It" contest.
