The Room
as I sit here in this quiet room,
with all these memories of you.
I slowly collide amongst my own thoughts.
truth is, it was all a dream,
everything is not what it seems.
as I sit here in this quiet room,
you're off howling at the moon.
I crumble in my own despair.
how could I be such a fool?
to fall into the arms of someone so cruel.
as I sit here in this quiet room,
my mind & soul bloom.
colors bursting at the seams.
I find myself lost beneath the waves,
for it is you I no longer crave.

This poem was inspired by a past lover I lost. During that time I became very depressed to the point I wouldn't leave my room. Yes, heartbreak is one of the most painful things a person can go through; but it was in that time of hardship I found my true self.
