Pounding the pavement,
I postulate on perfection.
With the pen I portray the passion in my prose.
Passionately, patient —
I paint with the pen.
An imperfect person,
Producing powerful words.

The inspiration for this piece came to me during a creative writing class. I began with the first two lines and I enjoyed the alliteration — the p's creating a pleasant rhyme scheme. From there, I crafted a poem about crafting poems.

Yay, a poem by Claire!
Keep it going, I say,
And in time you may find
(if you haven't already)
Them an awesome source
Of liberation,
A force from the heart
--all them parts of you
To be reckoned...
