The Flicker of Hope
Hope is a flicker of light,
Shiny at times and unseen at times
At times it shines too bright
And at times, it is as faint as hymns
Hope is belief, belief in the complex of situations
Dangly at times and firm at times
Some days it stands rooted to life’s inspirations
And some days it is difficult to say what it means
Hope is light, light at the end of the tunnel
Mesmerizing at times and overwhelming at times
At times it stands so straight and at times becomes senile
And at times it becomes as thin as a thread seems
Hope is peace, peace at the end of war
Soothing at times and unsettling at times
Some days it pushes us to go far
And some days it remains as still as the ocean seems
