A New Chapter
Like a flower blossoms in the sun,
Or the way a baby bird flies from its nest,
Life is meant to change.
For better
Or for worse,
The baby dove leaves its mother’s arms
And into the open sky.
For better
Or for worse,
The kitten strays from its mother
To find its own way.
For better
Or for worse,
A son leaves his mother
In search of new opportunities.
As school comes to an end,
his life is only just about to begin.

This poem is about my current situation. I am about to finish high school and start the next chapter of my life without my family by my side. I will be in college, away from them, but I know that this is will lead to a better future.
