Paint Me Like I am

April 6, 2018

Why don’t you paint me ?
Like I am?
Paint me laughing, surrounded by people not only do I love but also love me.

Paint me with lips that never see a frown.
Paint me with hair flowing so gracefully down my back.
And my dark brown eyes.

Paint me a moon shining bright, roses laid out, and a magical dark sky.
Paint me with wolves, lions, and dolphins.

Paint me somewhere dusk but shining.
Somewhere where nothings in sight but everything is heard.
With owls peering and creatures roaming

Paint me without my past.
Paint me without my horrors.
Paint me without my anxiety.
Paint me so my weaknesses won’t show.

Paint me with heart in my left hand
and my mind in my right.

Can you see the eyes telling you to paint me cherished,
Paint me with time, but most of all
Paint me never alone.

I love the raw emotion and imagery in this poem. It's beautiful.
