Bruised
I’ve always wondered how
it would feel, to have your delicate lips
touch my rosey cheek
I’ve always wondered what
It would be like, to hear you
Say that I’m yours
I’ve always wondered how
It would feel, to be loved by you
And hold your hand
But I never thought it would be
that hand that I held so close to me
That would knock me down
I never thought you would be the one
To replace your kiss with a cold,
Hard fist that left me damaged and broken
That left a blue, purple, and yellow
Bruise on that rosey cheek you once kissed
As you spoke the words “I love you”.
