I secured my snorkel
Adjusted my goggles
And dipped under the surface
Exploring the shallow depths
I followed each fish home
I poked at each sea plant
I was entranced
By the simplest of creatures
I passed on my gear
To my father
Wishing to provide him
With the alluring beauty of the sea
Despite my positive intentions
I was reluctant
To give up this treasure
But then I looked up
At the empty yet overflowing sky
Painted with tufts of cloud
Whiter than snow
I saw my brother and father
In awe of the underwater biome
Just as I had been moments before
And I thought,
As the current gently pulled
At my floating self,
"They're missing it."
