it’s a start,
don’t look back,
the past
is in
the past
I wanted to believe
I wanted to,
trust me,
I wanted to
but my lack of faith
took over
and it took advantage of my
cracks
and open-hearted
wounds
covered
in debri
yet not cleaned
and it destroyed my
already
bruised
muscles
strained and ruined
it made me second guess
my strength
and it made me look in the mirror
one
too
many
times
before love fought for me
and
won
i am sorry that
i looked back
that i did not
mean
to
what do you want me to do now?
