The Monster Under My Bed
Horrible, hideous, hairy, hungry
His horrendous hiccups harassing me
From under my bed
I decide to give him a piece of bread
My mother hears the commotion
She stops when she enters the room, frozen
Wide-eyed I stand
With chunks of bread crammed beneath my bed
The creepy creature cautiously accepts my gift
My mother staring at me, pissed
I am a goner
She really can’t see the monster
This really makes me ponder
Does this make me stronger?

This is a poem I had to write in my poetry class. The goal was to write a poem involving alliteration and near rhyme that was a bout a boy with a monster under his bed that only he could see.
