"Failing is Failing to Try"

He works hard every day to bring peace to war-torn countries.
Sometimes he sees dead bodies in the streets, and sometimes he brings children to refugee camps.
One day he was on a service trip in the Middle East to bring peace and it was there he met a group of orphans. He tells them how he would love to take them to a safe place, so one girl thought he wanted to kidnap her.
“As if I would harm you when I’m here for peace.” He says, kneeling down. She begins to cry.
“You might be nice but I miss my family.”
He sighs. “I know how it feels,” he says, “It hurts. I lost my family to.”

I wrote this based off the technique of a poem I read in English class.

I hope with this piece I can show them the fragility of the human spirit and the importance of compassion and lending a hand.
