the color was grey

now every time i sleep i’m reminded of you
every time i dream the garden comes back
and the dirt you threw too
i wish it would fade to black
but nothing fades to black when it comes to you
your color is dull and grey
and you will stay the same along with your hue
for your color refuses to turn to black, it will never decay
no matter how much black i mix your color will not change
i don’t know, maybe you're stuck the same
it’s so strange
but i guess i cannot blame the name that gives you your shame
