Life of a Soldire
I fight for my county
With pride and courage
And after that I start a family
I raise my kids and watch the grow
Until they go off on their own and eventaly,
They have children of their own and
They come to visit from time to time
Until I get weak and old and start to die
Then they come and comfort me
As I lay in the hospital bed
And now the tables have turned
I’m not the one taking care of them
But instead they are taking care of me
And as I close my eyes I hear the words
“I love you”
And all I could think is
I love you too.
