and if you think about it,
sinking and drowning are separate.
sinking is like slipping, but floating in thick air
that tugs at your being, pulls at your clothes,
while you watch the light fade between your fingertips
calm.
drowning is frantic, twisting and turning
hopeful turmoil,
desparate bubbles disrupting any view of the light you're leaving behind
and so, yes,
I presume if i was ever to drown, I'd let myself just sink.
