Realization on a Summer Day
On bright sunny smile-soaked summer days
there's a wonderfully carefree kind of
feeling, a yellow-sunflower happy haze
that engulfs my busy mind in self-love.
I'm part of an ancient culture I adore,
I love the way Hebrews melody dances
on my tongue like a golden ballroom floor
a language of my ancestors taking chances.
On the rain-cloud-of-pity days, it isn't true,
but today, to body-love I'm tightly gripping
I'm a holy goddess, a divine being born anew
with a beautiful and sacred stomach dripping
over the tight waistband of fraying blue jeans.
I'm not a synthetic photoshopped reflection
of perfection that exists only in dreams
but today I am truly honey-sweet perfection.
