What we want is hope that one day
we have equal education.
What we want is heat in our classrooms
not to be freezing like popsicles in a freezer.
What we want is a teacher who cares about us
and not about the check in the bank
Like back in elementary school when my teacher never cared
Just put on movies like we were nothing
but animals in a cage
Too long have we been denied
what the school board owes us
What we want is not a corrupt system of government
that spends all its money on jails
and not on kids who want a good future.
What we want is for people who claim that education is the key to a good life
but don't give us the tools for what we need to thrive
What we want is a chance!
To prove who we are and to show the world how smart we are
why  must you try to decide our futures.
What we want are things we need!
