Every spring, the lilacs sprout
purple and sweet
They wither in a few weeks,
so we cut them
And use them to decorate
A vase in the kitchen
A sprig in my room
A twig for my friends
The lilacs travel everywhere
I use them as an olive branch
For peace, and friendship
Because, while it might not need repair,
a little breath of spring
To freshen the air
And lighten the heart
Never hurt anyone
That wasn’t allergic to flowers

We actually have a lilac tree in our backyard, and every spring, I decorate our house with them. I love how beautiful yet delicate lilacs are
