Why Can't You See?
Looking in the mirror,
All you see are imperfections.
Eyes that are too far apart,
A nose that is too wide,
Lips that held no color.
Why can't you see
How beautiful you really are?
Why can't you look in the
Mirror and see
The color of your eyes,
The tilt of your smile,
The blush of your cheeks
When you laugh.
Try, just for me,
To see yourself as I see
You.
Because while you see yourself
As average,
I see you as
Beautiful.

One of my friends has issues with the way she looks. I wrote this as a way to show her how much she means to me, letting her know how despite what she sees as imperfections, I see her for how beautiful she is.
