Ruined

I always thought our fights were innocent--
small scuffles but nothing more.
To my surprise,
I dodge an enraged book that I never saw coming.
It soars behind me, attacking
my desk and everything on it.
Ink bleeds through all my precious work. It’s all ruined.
I go back to thinking nothing of it until
a familiar quarrel spills out once more.
Now I am the one covered in ink.
