It’s not a person or a face
Its words that are spread about races
These
Simple words and phrases
That knock them down
And glaze em’
With a sense of unworthiness
And hatred
We may pull a few ropes
That make it
Like it doesn't exist
And people don’t feel it
Like it doesn’t hit them in the face
Or make it
Seem like there is nothing left in this world
Worth savin’
But it’s us who can change it
It’s our hearts achin’
For the hearts that are breakin’
And the people torn to shreds by
Hatred
At the hands of the dead and mistaken
Who thought one race was makin’
This world the best on the planet and
Correct me if I am mistaken
But we are all part of the takin
And I’m sorry if you hate this
But this needs addressed on a daily basis
We are all equal
And we are all the “people”
So stop judging our facial
features
Or colors because we are not a racial hating country
We are all just on one tree
Trying to climb to the top to see
What God has given us to be
So do not let it break you
If someone doesn’t understand where you come from
Cause we are all equal
And whether you agree with me or not
We are ALL THE PEOPLE

Wow. Just wow. This poem is just wow. It’s so empowering and inspiring to change our perspective and it gets across a messageWe are all just on one tree that really needs to be told to our generation. And I especially love this line “We are all just on one tree
Trying to climb to the top to see
What God has given us to be” it’s just beautiful as is that I can hang it on my wall beautiful. Keep writing poetry you’re pretty good at it.
