To Fall
I'm suffocating amid my normality,
My barely present features
Punctured into oblivion.
Others rise up and
Eclipse my candle,
Gleaming stars to my sputtering wick.
My attempts towards dying dreams fall
Flat,
Tumbling into the abyss of despair and failure;
I am a failure.

This piece was written during a tough part of my life, when the harsh reality of the education system rained down on me, and I was forced to accept the reality that I wasn't as talented as I had grown up being told I was. I hope people who read this can relate to this same frustration and raw emotion, of which was difficult to express into words.
