Dreaming of Us
I hear a knock,
I open the door
It’s you
I stand there,
as still as prey
that notices its predator
close by
Your smile,
I can’t get over it
It feels like it’s been
forever, since I’ve seen you
“I’ve missed you”
the words I’ve wanted to say to you
since October
We go to the lake,
because it’s our favorite
We’re watching the sunset,
as everything starts to
f a d e
I hear my alarm clock
r i n g i n g
I knew he’d never
actually
come back
