Real Americanc
What makes a real american?
Is it the broad noses? and the phrase ‘yes you can!’
Is it the Native blood from the people before us?
Is it to “stick it to the man”? Is it better to be a man?
Or is to refuse to sit in the back of the bus?
It’s us! The blacks, immigrants, females and queers
Your worst nightmare, your biggest fear
It’s us! The Natives, Poor, Disabled, and Mentally ill
Making a hole in our hearts with a social drill
But we aren't considered Americans, not even humans.
Not even a little, not even at all.
Because boys will be boys
Because that type of love is unnatural
Because Black Lives Matter riots make noise
Because depression is all behavioral
Because we aren't the white man
So what happens when our hope is on the run?
Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?
Your nightmare is my reality
Only because you lack morality
