Football Season

Warm flannel blankets comforting our cold skin,
Teams trying everything, just to get a win.
Snowflakes delicately landing on our eyelashes,
Players tackle with smashes and crashes.
Drinking smooth, bittersweet hot cocoa just to stay warm,
Coaches huddle trying to understand how to make the players perform.
Whispering and giggling about the latest gossip,
While parents and players knowing this game is a toss up.
Eating chocolates and sugar galore,
And now we’re losing, but only by four.
