ink runs through my veins
carrying words to my brain
with each new sentence i am reminded of you
do you remember me too?
remember the beach? remember the house?
remember the sand? remember the sound?
did you read my letter?
i sent it last november
did you write one too?
did you ask if i remember?

The author's comments:

This poem was written about a childhood best friend that I thought I would know forever. As time went on, we drifted apart, as people often do. This work is about the questions that I still have about her, and the memories that we shared.
