The Kite
The kite flies so high
In blue and peaceful sky
With the light breeze and the sun bright
Enjoying racing with other kites
The kite has a taste of new horizons
And just wants to keep flying and flying
It tries reaching out and ignoring the man
Who’s tugging to keep it close
At once, the sky turns black
Rain quickly drops in and thunder appears
The kite is like a lost little bird
Tired, depressed and disoriented
It’s falling back to the ground
its starting place
Where an open-armed man
Welcomes it back with loving eyes.
