Today is the day
When the light fades away
And all that is left
Is an unforgiving gray
Today the concrete words
Leave footprints on our souls
And the heartbeats you heard
Were the wings of black birds
Today is the day
When the sky falls in
And the secrets ooze from their prisons
Leaving you broken, the lies all burned
Today is the day
That never ends
The wolves are no longer at bay
But in utter despair a broken soul will say
Pour out your tears and
Scream out your sorrow but
Stay alive for
There is always tomorrow.
