Each night

I stared at my reflection

In the mirror

I stood there in silence

Scanning my body

Looking for imperfections

Tears filled my eyes

As a voice said;

"You're never going to be beautiful"

"You're never going to be perfect"

That was the moment I realized

What it was like to

Be afraid of

Your own

Mind

I wrote this piece one night at exactly 11:57pm.  It's about my thoughts controlling my actions.  You can either let your mind control you, or you control you.  What do you choose?
