The Hummingbird

Inches from the field,
she flutters in mid air- tiny wings…
With pitter patter rhythm
she floated up above the ground
and sucked all the sugar from the delectable treats.
Hunger sings.
She hovers down, delicately and slow.
Feeding time is finished, her tiredness carries her.
A hummingbird hum-hum-humming-
halted by the wind of silence.
The hummingbird froze.
She chirped over the porch-
waiting for nothing..
She breathes-
heart beating eagerly.
Nectar on the inside,
with flowers all around.
Energy is here-
Bouncing.
