Second Place
Life is full of competition,
you’re always in the race.
But sometimes all the preparation,
only gets you second place.
Second place is not the worst,
it leaves room to improve.
But those who come in first,
don’t always know how to lose.
Be grateful for your ranking,
even if it’s not the best,
take it with a thanking,
and let the weight fall off your chest.
We all must learn to fail,
to help us as we grow,
otherwise we end up frail,
and full of so much woe.
