To You
I am addicted to cigarettes. And it’s tragic. It’s tragic because you used to buy me cigarettes, all my favorite kinds too. Marlboro Blacks, Djarum Blacks, and Camels. I fell in love with the taste like I fell in love with your company and our adventures together. But then you changed.Your tall figure became less of protector and more of an aggressor. You knew I didn’t want to, I told you that. God forbid I see you in court and take pity on your sad blue eyes. Because you’ll look scared. But I was scared too. I’m addicted to cigarettes. And the sound of a sparking lighter to me sounds like gunshots to a war vet. And the taste of cigarettes that used to take me away. Brings me back. To you.
