A Dream,
They call it,
Is an escape from reality,
Golden in the darkness,
Wonderful and bright,
Beauty throughout,
Safely and Securely,
Gently caressing your soul,
Eliminating your fears.
That is until,
Darkness spreads,
Panic creeps into you,
Praying for light,
Silence deafening,
Heart erupting,
Nowhere to hide,
Cold and alone,
They call it,
A nightmare.

I was inspired to write this piece by a dream I had. In the dream, I was standing in a small shop, everything peaceful and great like in the poem, until it became very dark, and I had woken up.
