The Race That Changed My Life
The race that changed my life
BOOM!
Was the sound of the gun firing off
Everyone was off to the races.
I was rounding the first corner,
All my attention was on the girl in front of me.
I started to round the track, I was gaining on her.
Whoosh whoosh,
Was the sound of my hair flying in the air.
All around me my teammates gathered
I could hear them chanting my name in symphony.
Symphony.
The sound of my feet were getting louder.
My chest tight as could be.
Gasping for air as I pushed myself harder than I could imagine.
The last straight away was all that was left,
My legs began to turn over,
My speed was increasing,
I finally caught the girl in front of me as I crossed the finish line.
My team had won, and screams filled the air.
All my hard work had payed off.
This was the best feeling in the world.
This was, the race, that changed my life.
