I stare coldly into his eyes and at his plate. I know it’s frustrating for him and he gets embarrassed, but how couldn’t I? His food sits full and his stomach empty. He seems more concerned about the football game on the television and talking to his cousins. It’s nice to see them after awhile but I don’t approve of him going back home on an empty stomach. I can already hear his stomach growling. What should I do? I shouldn’t go over and make a scene. There’d be flying forks and spinning spoons. I’ll just leave him be, he will eventually learn the rules of thanksgiving, but since he’s only ten I guess I can let it slide. I think I’ll wait one more year, for the fifth time.
