Ripped on the inner left side
overworn suede beginning to fade
Her petite foot slides in once again
the laces hug her feet reassuring her
They lay in the dusty corner of her room
awaiting their next trip to an underground music venue
where they will get more more bruised and scarred
‘Special Edition’ graphic on the soles
already gone
Nothing left but rubber and suede
laces hanging by a string
yet
still her number one choice
