Words without Meaning

I have no authority to make you read this
I have no power to make you listen
I am nobody
I am misinformed
I have been deceived
I have been cheated
I don’t know who you are
But you’re in the same boat as me

I know nothing
Am I the citizen of a country,
Or the employee of a corporation?
What does my social security number really mean
There’s just enough information out there
For me to know that things are not right

They say we have rights
Unalienable rights
A Bill of Rights
Well what does the fourth amendment do
When they can see everything all the time?
Our computers
Our phones
Our daily lives
Everything
They can see it
It really meaningless to analyze this amendment specifically
It’s the system as a whole

We can sit around talking about unfairness
Your contest is a waste of time
Will a change occur?
Nothing will change
Does it empower students voices?
How can it do that
You do not have power yourself
We’re all in the same boat
Pawns in the game of great kings and queens

Time to crumple up and throw out this poem
I do not care
I have not said anything
I have not said anything particularly new
Nor have I said anything particularly important
You will forget this by the time you read the next one
This poem is not emotional
I am not a good writer

I wonder how long it will be
Until there's not more freedom of speech
Were I cannot even write this
Hopefully I’ll be dead

God Bless America

The way you end this really ties it all together. I love your style of writing, I can't wait to read more of your work.
