The morning dew
dripping down their pedals
Their vibrant red colour
Shining in the early morning light

Great grandmothers name
passed through generations
like old family recipes

Patter of childrens’ feet
and laughter
Nicknames being yelled
Throughout the rooms and hallways

Planted once, but comes back every year
Blooming into something beautiful
time and time again

Fragile looking but if not careful
painful to the touch,
their beauty and meaning something
Much deeper and so much more graceful
than just a flower.

This is about family and what a flower means in our family.
